Education

Our CEQA/NEPA specialists provided greater flexibility to San Diego State University by writing the campus master plan EIR so future projects could be tiered-off as project-specific CEQA documents. The University of California, San Diego uses Dudek specialists for a variety of on-call envirornmental services, including CEQA/NEPA, permitting, biological studies, native habitat, wetlands protection and restoration, air quality and noise studies, and archaeology and paleontology studies. Santa Barbara City College has used Dudek's environmental planning staff for more than 12 years to ensure consistent, successful implementation of the college’s long-range development plan. We helped San Marcos Unified School District overcome potential environmental regulatory roadblocks to open a new elementary school on time. The school site included endangered plants, protected wetlands and cultural resources. Our biologists conducted surveys under tight timeframes to meet survey season deadlines and our native habitat experts designed and constructed mitigation for wetlands and rare plants. Our environmental planners prepared CEQA documentation and managed public outreach to help the San Dieguito Unified School District get approval for roof-top solar panels at two high schools located adjacent to residential neighborhoods. Our environmental planners prepared CEQA documentation and technical studies to help Riverside Community College add a three-story, 800-space parking structure. We provided engineering design for water, sewer, storm drain and grading when Sacred Heart School in Palm Desert expanded classrooms and parking, and added an open play field that doubles as a retention basin.

We help public and private schools, colleges and universities complete their environmental documentation and permitting needs while also providing on-site civil engineering, construction management, and long-term environmental mitigation.

Our environmental professionals have completed numerous CEQA documents and associated environmental technical studies for California’s new and expanding school facilities, including siting studies in conformance with California Department of Education criteria, Phase 1 Environmental Site Assessments and Preliminary Environmental Assessments, as well as air quality, hydrology, noise, biology, cultural resources and health risk assessments.

At the college and university level, our environmental teams have assembled necessary documentation for campus master plans, helping to achieve environmental compliance that anticipates and mitigates a wide variety of critical issues.
