Careers

We have one of California's largest private environmental staffs of biologists, native habitat experts, landscape architects, environmental planners, cultural resource analysts, urban foresters and arborists. Biologists Jeff Priest and Kam Muri are shown doing field work. Our engineers specialize in planning, designing and managing construction of water-wastewater facilities. Program Manager Steve Jepsen (left) is shown on-site of a $117 million sewer enhancement project he is managing on behalf of the City of Vista. Twice a year Dudek folks volunteer with Community HousingWorks to provide housing facelifts in urban neighborhoods. We love helping clients succeed! Dudek project managers Carey Fernandes (second from left) and Katy Aylward (second from right) celebrate with Port of San Diego clients after receiving a American Planning Associatio (APA) award for the Chula Vista Bayfront Master Plan. The world-class Swami’s surf break is just down the street from our Encinitas office. A surfboard storage facility makes it easy for office surfers to take advantage of our location. When we opened our new Orange County office in August 2011 in coastal San Juan Capistrano, Engineering VP Bob Ohlund and CFO Dave Carter experimented with re-naming the company. Our hazardous waste experts go through regular OSHA training. And, yes, it is fun putting the suits on and standing in front of our building for pictures. Our offices are casual dress work environments and dog-friendly. Glenna McMahon of our haz waste/hydrogeology group is shown with Bos’n. Senior environmental project manager Joe Monaco advises UC San Diego students on resume writing as part of an Association of Environmental Planners (AEP) outreach program. Senior biologist Anita Hayworth (in blue shirt with binoculars) leads a bird-watching walk in Ladera Ranch in Orange County where we’ve done a lot of environmental work. One of the firm’s annual tradition is free fresh turkeys delivered the day before Thanksgiving. Thanks to our turkey deliveryman, Les Nessman. Interested in learning about working for us? We provide opportunities throughout California for motivated environmental science and engineering professionals.

People who succeed at Dudek are collaborative by nature. They have a passion for working with clients and colleagues to plan, design and manage projects that make California a better place to live and work.

Our clients enjoy working with us (they’ve told us so more than once!) because we emphasize continual communication, strong relationships and the knowledge to get things done well and cost-effectively.

We’re an employee-owned firm. We’re short on bureaucracy and long on personal initiative, teamwork, entrepreneurial attitude and client satisfaction. You can learn more about our firm's culture in the San Diego Business Journal interview with Frank Dudek on building a successful consulting firm.

Our aim is to be California’s “go to” environmental sciences and engineering consultant, focused solely on helping California clients with their everyday needs, as well as their signature projects.

If this career philosophy matches your interest, we’d like to hear from you.
