Biological Resources/Resource Agency Permitting

Dudek's professional staff of terrestrial biologists has significant scientific training and project experience in botany, mammalogy, herpetology, entomology, ornithology, environmental biology, spatial analysis, and habitat and wetlands restoration.

Dudek's biological resources services include:

Biological Surveys
Our biologists have completed over 400 biological surveys throughout California including vegetation and sensitive species mapping. Surveys range in size from a half-acre to 25,000 acres and include virtually all sensitive habitat types. All field data is converted to digital formats using our in-house GIS capabilities.

Threatened and Endangered Species Inventories
Our biologists have state and federal permits for surveying, banding, and trapping threatened or endangered species including various fairy shrimp, California gnatcatcher, arroyo southwestern toad, least Bell’s vireo, southwestern willow flycatcher, red-legged frog, Coachella Valley fringe-toed lizard, Stephens’ kangaroo rat, Pacific pocket mouse, Quino checkerspot butterfly, Mojave ground squirrel and San Joaquin kit fox. Our biologists also have extensive experience with a broad range of listed and unlisted sensitive plant species particularly throughout Central and Southern California.

Wetlands Delineations
Dudek biologists have extensive experience performing wetlands delineations on projects that must meet the regulatory environmental requirements of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (ACOE), U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the California Department of Fish and Game (CDFG), and Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB).

Regulatory Permitting
Dudek’s years of experience preparing and processing permits through regulatory environmental agencies have enabled us to identify successful strategies for meeting agency requirements. Our staff has successfully processed United States Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) [Section 7, 4(d), and 10a Consultations]; ACOE [404 Individual and Nationwide], CDFG [1601, 1603, and 2081], and RWQCB [401] permits. Biology staff support the habitat restoration team with biological surveys and expertise as necessary to meet regulatory environmental standards and create valid revegetation plans, provide resource agency coordination and permit processing.

Dudek's environmental permitting services (SIN 899-1) are available through the GSA Federal Supply Schedule (Contract #GS-10F-0200S).
