DUDEK - GIS/GPS

GIS and GPS capabilities are fully integrated with Dudek's engineering and environmental services to help clients achieve feasible, permittable projects with successful outcomes. Data collection, mapping, and modeling are essential resources to provide clients and regulators with multi-layered, integrated analyses to address the challenges that arise during project design, permitting and construction.

Dudek's GIS services (SIN 899-7) are now available through the
GSA Federal Supply Schedule (Contract #GS-10F-0200S).

Seamlessly transferring digital data among project team members lets us respond efficiently to project challenges. For example, GPS data gathered in the field is transferred to GIS workstations in real-time, providing immediate and direct access to data for our clients. Our high-accuracy GPS land cover mapping capabilities allows our staff to collect data in the field and produce maps and GIS databases with horizontal accuracy of better than two feet in a matter of hours.

We can load site-grading plans into sub-meter GPS equipment to allow field monitors to navigate project designs in the field in real-time conditions. GPS allows for accurate depiction of site features before base mapping is available and can also be used to quickly relocate previously mapped or surveyed features such as rare plants, wetland boundaries, sample transects, sample pints, manholes, pipe breaks and other features. GPS is a cost-effective data collection tool when survey grade accuracy is not needed.

We are an ESRI partner and use ArcInfo, ArcView, ArcIMS and AutoCAD, to create/build, exchange, query, analyze and display GIS data. GIS-based topological modeling and spatial analyses coupled with informed policy direction and decision-making enables our clients and regulators to evaluate complex project issues in a fraction of the time of hard-copy paper methods. Multiple alternatives and project changes can be viewed and analyzed simultaneously, saving substantial time and costs on re-evaluations as project designs develop.
