San Diego State University Plans Campus Master Plan Revisions

Challenge: Planning for student population increases with new campus construction, San Diego State University (SDSU) needed to address the potential impact of proposed master plan changes.

Project Scope: Working with SDSU’s outside counsel, Dudek prepared and processed environmental documentation, conducted technical studies and supported community outreach efforts.

Resolution: Faced with a growing student population and a fully built-out urban campus, SDSU needed to update campus master plans to accommodate growth while being sensitive to community concerns. Working with outside counsel, the Dudek team created 3D simulations of the completed project, conducted technical analyses and prepared and processed environmental impact reports (EIRs) addressing master plan revisions and new construction projects including design and siting of:

Student and faculty housing
Athletic facilities
Parking structures and other transportation improvements
Pedestrian promenades and other access improvements
