Dudek Named One of Nation's Top 200 Environmental Firms

Firm is #1 Southern California Mid-sized Environmental Consulting Firm on Engineering News-Record’s Annual List

Encinitas, Calif. – July 29, 2008 – Dudek has been named for the third consecutive year by Engineering News-Record as a Top 200 Environmental Firm. According to the survey based on firm revenue, Dudek ranks as the 131st largest firm in the country, having continuously climbed the national rankings from 151 and 170 the previous two years.

For the first time in the annual survey, Dudek ranks as Southern California’s leading mid-sized locally-based environmental firm among companies with less than $100 million annual revenue and under 500 employees.

The 220-person firm, which opened new offices in Riverside and Auburn during the past 12 months, specializes in projects for natural resource management, infrastructure development and regulatory compliance.

Recent key projects by the firm include:
  • Helping Tejon Ranch Company with a 10 year conservation planning effort that culminated in June with a landmark agreement, creating one of the largest conservation and land use pacts in California history.
  • Writing the first environmental impact report in California to be approved by regional governing bodies including the Regional Water Quality Control Board for a proposed 50 million gallon a day ocean water desalination plant. Dudek’s work was recognized with awards from the American Planning Association and Association of Environmental Professionals.
  • Developing wildfire protection plans for numerous California communities combining state-of-the-art fire analysis software, GIS and innovative fuel management techniques.
  • Authoring water conservation and audit programs for a number of California water agencies including Metropolitan Water District of Southern California’s BeWaterWise program.
  • Managing biological programs for Southern California Edison along the utility’s transmission corridors.
  • Replacing nearly one mile of aging sewer pipeline at risk of failure located 45-feet beneath the coastal San Elijo Lagoon. Dudek’s work designing the trenchless technology installation method was recognized with awards from both California Water Environment Association and American Society of Civil Engineers.
