Dudek Expands Water & Wastewater Engineering Practice

Irvine, Calif. – July 15, 2008 – Dudek today announced Bruce Burris, P.E. joined the consulting firm’s water and wastewater practice as a principal engineer specializing in pumping and treatment facilities planning and design, asset management studies, energy optimization studies, water wells and tanks, and odor control facilities.

“California’s water and wastewater industries face significant infrastructure challenges as aging facilities must be rehabilitated while also planning for another 25 million people expected to reside here by 2050,” said Mike Metts, Dudek’s engineering services manager. “Bruce strengthens our firm’s 28 year legacy of providing agencies with practical solutions to their engineering challenges.”

Burris has over 30 years’ experience in the water and wastewater industry. Throughout his career, he has designed 14 wastewater treatment plant projects and over two dozen water and wastewater pump stations and water wells. Additionally, Burris has completed over 10 water and wastewater treatment facility optimization studies, over 30 energy conservation studies of water and wastewater treatment facilities and water distribution systems, nine asset management studies, and over one dozen water and wastewater treatment process cost studies. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), American Water Works Association (AWWA), Orange County Water Association, Water Environment Federation and the American Academy of Environmental Engineers. Burris won the ASCE State of the Art for Civil Engineering Award for preparation of the Water Treatment Plant Residuals Manual for the Environmental Protection Agency, AWWA and ASCE.
