Two Senior Project Managers Join Dudek's Environmental Practice

Encinitas, Calif. – February 19, 2008 – Dudek today announced two senior project managers have joined the consulting firm’s natural resources management and regulatory compliance practices.

John Westermeier specializes in complex NEPA/CEQA studies and has extensive experience managing environmental projects throughout Orange and Los Angeles counties. Wayne Fowler specializes in analyzing boundaries for local government and agency annexations, reorganizations, and incorporations. Westermeier is based in the firm’s Irvine office, and Fowler is in the Riverside office.

“John has a successful track record managing intricate and often controversial projects for clients in water resources management, transportation, electrical power, and oil and gas industries. These industries will continue to face significant challenges in complying with complex, ever-evolving California and federal environmental regulations,” said June Collins, Dudek’s vice president and manager of the firm’s environmental practice. “Wayne’s vast community development knowledge will help municipalities navigate the myriad of laws and coordinate with the numerous stakeholders involved in land use, planning, and reorganization projects.”

Westermeier has over 30 years experience managing environmental studies including NEPA/CEQA documents, natural resource projects, siting studies, and regulatory compliance programs for energy, transportation, water, and development projects. He has worked on major environmental and resource management studies throughout the western United States, and has prepared biological assessments and studies for terrestrial and aquatic environments. Prior to joining Dudek, Westermeier served as a branch manager and technical group manager for private practice environmental consulting firms. He is a member of Association of Environmental Professionals, California Native Plant Society, National Audubon Society, Society of Military Engineers and Water Education Foundation.

Fowler has over 20 years experience in public planning, working with developers and public agencies to review and analyze land usage, annexations, reorganizations and incorporations. Throughout his career, he has educated public and local agencies on how to complete annexations, sphere of influence reviews, and incorporations. Prior to joining Dudek, Fowler served as a senior local government analyst with the Riverside County Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO). He is a member of California Association of LAFCOs.
