Dudek Adds Cultural Resources Services to its Consulting Practices

Santa Barbara, Calif. – November 6, 2007 – Dudek today announced the consulting firm added cultural resources services to its environmental planning and engineering practices. This new service complements the firm’s integrated services for biology, noise, urban forestry/fire management, water policy, GIS and hydrology/hazardous waste.

David F. Stone joins Dudek as cultural resources project manager, and Kenneth D. Victorino joins as senior archaeologist.

“David and Kenneth bring a wealth of archaeological expertise to help our clients keep development projects on schedule by ensuring timely compliance with California and federal environmental regulations regarding cultural resources,” said June Collins, Dudek’s vice president.

Stone has over 24 years of experience as a cultural resources and CEQA/NEPA expert, conducting environmental reviews and managing projects in the areas of residential, commercial, industrial, institutional, and energy development. He manages cultural resources analyses and documentation for archaeological resources, historic resources, and Native American values for projects throughout California. Stone previously served as a planning and cultural resources manager for a private practice firm and was staff archaeologist and environmental planner for the County of Santa Barbara. He is certified by the Register of Professional Archaeologists and is a member of the Society for American Archaeology, Society for California Archaeology, California Preservation Foundation and Association of Environmental Planners. Additionally, Stone is an adjunct professor in the environmental studies program at the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Victorino has nearly 15 years experience in cultural resources management, supervising projects in accordance with state and federal regulations such as CEQA, NEPA, and Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA). He has directed reconnaissance surveys as well as excavations for significance testing and mitigation programs at prehistoric and historic archaeological sites throughout California including San Clemente Island. Victorino is certified by the Register of Professional Archaeologists and is a member of the Society of California Archaeology.
