Dudek Expands Natural Resources Management Practice
Irvine, Calif. – June 12, 2007 –
Dudek today announced Ryan Henry has joined the engineering and environmental consulting firm as senior biologist. Mr. Henry joins the firm’s Irvine-based natural resources management group, which provides clients with integrated environmental services for biology, urban forestry/fire management, water policy, GIS and hydrology/hazardous waste.
“The old question for Southern California development used to be what was the ‘least action’ that could be taken to meet regulatory and community expectations,” said June Collins, Dudek’s vice president. “Today, our clients ask about the ‘best action’ to take to provide a stable and secure solution that is profitable and environmentally-sound. Our natural resources management group provides those solutions for private and public clients."
Mr. Henry has nearly 10 years experience as an ecologist focused on the integration of scientific principles for the assessment of wetlands and other aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems. Prior to joining Dudek, he served in senior project management roles for private consulting firms. Mr. Henry’s field-related experience includes performing wetland delineations, functional assessments, and biological surveys of flora and fauna including sensitive species investigations. Holding a permit to survey vernal pool branchiopods, he has prepared reports describing and inventorying biological resources for a variety of habitats, riparian assessments and mitigation, and other CEQA and NEPA documents. Mr. Henry has successfully managed biological investigations and regulatory permitting projects and is skilled at agency coordination. Additionally, he has varied volunteer experience on several biological investigations and restoration projects with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
