Dudek Expands its Environmental Consulting Practice

Encinitas, Calif. – February 6, 2007 – Dudek added to its environmental consulting practice with three key hires. Stephen Dickey, R.G., senior hydrogeologist, Cornelis Overweg, P.E., senior acoustician, and Manna Warburton, a certified wildlife biologist, join the firm to help municipalities and developers throughout California meet regulatory and technical challenges associated with water supply needs, environmental noise impacts, and permitting, respectively.

Dickey, a 35 year veteran, will focus on California’s increasing water supply needs and post development groundwater issues. He has extensive project experience with contaminant hydrogeology, engineering geology and groundwater supply for municipal and industrial clients throughout California. Previously, Dickey held geological engineering positions with Southern California Edison, ARCO Transportation and Lockheed Martin. He is a California registered geologist, California certified engineering geologist and California certified hydrogeologist.

Overweg has nearly 30 years experience in acoustical consulting, mechanical engineering and project management. He has prepared noise studies during all phases of design and development for a variety of projects including water treatment facilities, pump stations, power plants, airports, hospitals, educational facilities and residential developments. Certified in noise control engineering, Overweg is a member of the Acoustical Society of America and the Institute of Noise Control Engineering.

Warburton brings to Dudek nearly 10 years of experience in wildlife biology and research. He has developed and implemented monitoring programs for federally- and/or state-listed wildlife species including threespine stickleback, tidewater goby, southern steelhead trout and Santa Ana sucker. Warburton previously served as a biologist with the United States Geological Survey and a researcher with the California Department of Fish & Game and the Pacific Estuarine Research Laboratory.
