Santa Barbara, Calif. – March 28, 2006 – Dudek, a leading Southern California engineering and environmental consulting firm, today announced the expansion of its Santa Barbara-based environmental operations with the hiring of Jennifer Turnbull as project manager and biologist. Turnbull will provide environmental services ranging from conducting biological surveys to managing resource agency compliance for municipal agencies and major landowners.
“Significant growth from north of Los Angeles through Ventura, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo has generated more demand for environmental services such as biological resource management, habitat restoration and even urban forestry,” said June Collins, Dudek’s environmental division vice president. “The key element for both public agencies and major landowners is combining economically-viable development with environmentally-smart design, planning and management. The resulting development – infrastructure, housing or open space – significantly enhances a community’s aesthetics, feel and quality.”
Turnbull brings to Dudek over 15 years experience in wildlife biology, biological consulting, mitigation monitoring, and project management. Prior to joining Dudek, she owned a biological consulting company, providing environmental services for a variety of public and private clients. Turnbull served as a consultant to federal agencies such as the USDA Forest Service, International Boundary and Water Commission, U.S. Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as well as performed subcontract work for several regional environmental consulting firms. Turnbull is a member of the American Ornithologists Union and The Wildlife Society.
Dudek’s Santa Barbara office provides planning, environmental and hydrogeology services on development projects throughout Santa Barbara, Ventura and north Los Angeles counties.
